What is PBIS? PBIS is an acronym for Positive Behavior Intervention Systems. Mary Eyre is in its second year of implementation of PBIS. We have a team that meets once a month to review and address barriers to behavior based student needs.
What does this mean for Mary Eyre students? Students can only be successful if and when they are ready to learn. By adopting and implementing PBIS at our school, we are ensuring that we create an environment that enables students to succeed, learn, and excel.
How can parents get involved?
- Ask your child about any positive rewards they have received, such as Eagle Bucks, Soaring Eagle, PBIS awards or Golden Wings classroom awards.
- Ask about our three core values of Be Safe, Be Respectful, and Be Responsible. Does your child understand these terms and what they look like? If not, take time to review what you understand them to mean and what you think they look like.
- Post their positive rewards on the refrigerator or other spot in your home that communicates how proud you are of their hard work.
